I do belive that every person in Sweden sometime in their life have caught a perch. This fish is very common inmost lakes around Stugun. In the lake Mörtsjön we can offer you to fish for Perch as it´s not unusual that perch over 1 Kg are caught in the lake. In the summertime there are a really fun to fish perch with either popper or flyfishing. The surroundings in Mörtsjön are very nice with small ilands and a lot of reed and vegetation.
The European perch (Perca fluviatilis) is a highly predatory species of perch. They feed om other fish, insects and almost anything they can find to eat. European perch are greenish with red pelvic, anal, and caudal fins. They have 5–9 dark vertical bars on their sides. They prefers slow-moving rivers, deep lakes and ponds where it stays close to patches of vegetation and submerged objects. Perch require well-oxygenated water to survive.
